How many meat-eaters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They'd rather stay in the dark about things.
Why did you become a vegan?
Well, I don't believe in cruelty to animals. I speak for those who don't have voices. Short, sweet, too the point.
But eggs don't hurt the chickens!
Did you know that in the majority of commercial companies cram 5-7 chickens into a cage the size of a filing cabinet drawer? Also, when a baby rooster is born they will grind him up and use his remains to feed the egg-layers.
Do you WANT him to die? What kind of monster ARE you?!
If we didn't milk the cows then their udders would burst! It hurts the cows to keep all the milk inside them!
That's why cows have babies. The cows' udders ache with too much milk because the people of the cow industry take away the calves, put them in cages where they can barely move (so that the veal is as tender as can be) and then kill them. So if you let the cow mommies keep their babies then the babies will drink the milk-what do you think happened to the cows before humans? They didn't just run around until their udders exploded. Duh. Also, when we lessen the cow industry, there will be fewer cows producing less methane and thus making for a better environment because the ozone is no longer being depleted by the gas let off by their poop.
His name is Beuford. Please don't hurt him!
I'm a vegetarian, why isn't that enough?
Well here's the difference between vegans and vegetarians:
Vegetarians believe in not killing animals.
Vegans believe in not hurting animals at all.
Think about it, which is more humane?
I could NEVER live without steak, though!
Do you have steak every day? No. No, you don't. So you could. And you should.
But we're at the top of the food-chain, it's natural to eat other animals. That's why we have teeth for tearing.
Yes, we all originated eating meat. If I were a cavewoman, I would be eating triceratopses too. If all my family could get was a wild guinea-pig in Peru, I'd eat it. However, eating animal products is no longer necessary in developed countries. We have so many options that animal products are consumed for one reason-they taste good. Why should voiceless creatures suffer and die for the sake of your taste-buds? There is no good reason.
If you're a vegan...why aren't you super skinny?
Are you calling me fat?! *Bitchslaps*
But seriously, I'm not super skinny because I'm a healthy vegan. You're not being fair to your body by just eating salads. Vegans need to embrace nuts and avocados and occasionally a vegan cupcake because hell, they deserve it.
Where do you get your protein?
Nuts and vitamin supplements, bitch!
Yes, I know that just eating a tablespoon of peanut butter isn't enough protein, it's a hard fact that eating carcasses (CUZ THAT'S WHAT MEAT IS-CARCASSES!!!) gives you protein. So does eating grasshoppers.
I opt for taking supplements in pill-form every morning so that I can be healthy and strong. I also take a calcium pill (oranges also have a lot of calcium).
What's the hardest part about being vegan?
That the majority of the world isn't.
When did you become vegan?
August 10, 2010
Will I always be vegan?
Yes, there's no turning back. Besides, tofu and I have a special relationship, I could never leave her.
Will you raise your children vegan?
Humans are the only animals that keep drinking milk past the age of five. I'm hoping that by the time I have children we can get a Patio-Cow or maybe even a regular cow and then use her milk for them in their earlier years. My kids will be raised vegetarians until they're 9 or 12 and then I'll give them the choice of being vegan after presenting them with the facts. The only anti-vegan fact I can think of is that it's damn hard sometimes when you go out to eat and awkward when you're invited over for dinner at an unknowing omnivore's house.
If you want the truth, go here. It ain't pretty but it's real.
This place has a cuter way of telling you about it
You're a hero, you know that?
